Weigh in day!

Well, I got up at 4:20am this morning to go to the doctor in Valdosta for weigh in and replenishment day! I was a little nervous, as I always am to see how much I lost, but I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that I had lost 14 LBS in 1 MONTH! I am way psyched. I knew I had lost weight, but I wasn't sure exactly how much, and the better part, I dropped a pants size! NOW, I just have to keep this pace going. I figure if I can continuously lose between 10-15 lbs a month, I will be set! The hard part now is not letting myself lose this pace, I need to keep the weight coming off, so that I can EVENTUALLY reach my goal weight, and have the body I have always desired! Right now I feel very motivated, and proud of myself, but I know the second month is always harder than the first, so wish me luck as I continue on my weight loss extravaganza!

Tomorrow is weigh in day!

Well, it has almost been a month, and I am a little scared about weigh in day! I am not sure exactly how it is going to go. I feel I have been doing pretty well, not perfect, but I have definitely changed my outlook on food and exercise! I try to eat in moderation, and make good choices. Some of the staples in my diet have been: baby carrots, almonds, fruit, and cottage cheese. These are the things I eat almost daily as part of my small meals. But, I have also had everyday things such as chicken wings (grilled), sandwiches, and so on.

As far as working out, I have been doing quite well, actually I have made up my own hr long cardio workout, which has been kicking my ass. Just in case you want to know what it is:

I always stretch first!
I then start with 15 minutes on the elliptical going at a steady and quick pace, with the ramp at the lowest setting, ie no incline.
Then, for the next 15 minutes, I increase the elliptical incline to the maximum. This kicks the heart rate up, and feels like you are running up hill.
For the final 30 minutes on the elliptical, I grab 1 lb hand weights. Then, while running on the elliptical, I alternate jabs in the front of me for 2 minutes, and then just hold the weights in my hands for 3 minutes. This goes on for 6 rounds, 2 minutes using the weights, and 3 minutes not using the weights = 30 minutes. If ever I get really tired, instead of punching with every stride, I take it to every other stride. Either way, this kicks my heart rate way up. It is actually quite hard and tiring, but it works all kinds of muscles in my back, arms, stomach, shoulder, and of course my legs are also getting their asses kicked because I am constantly moving on the elliptical. Also, to break up the monotony I sometimes alternate my 2 min intervals between different punches I have learned in my kick-boxing class, such as hooks, upper cuts, crossovers and such. Either way, this workout is hard, makes me sore as hell, and definitely gives my heart a workout.

Monday 6/16/08

Thus far today I think I am doing pretty good. I got up this morning and went for a walk around my neighborhood, and then I had to finish my English paper. I was planning on going to the gym this afternoon, but I have way too much school work, this being the last week/ exam week for summer A.

Breakfast- I had a cup of cereal with blueberries and nonfat milk

mid morning snack- carrots and cheeze its

lunch- cottage cheese with fruit

I have yet to have dinner, but I am making chicken and vegetables, and maybe some sweet potato fries!...not so good for me, but yummy!

One thing I can say I am proud of is that I have actually been remembering to take my medication, so that has really helped with my appetite! WOOP WOOP!

Thus far I think I have done pretty well. I actually did something today I told myself I wasn't going to do, and that was weigh myself! I am really trying not to weigh myself often, but that isn't happening. What I saw on the scale was very encouraging though, it said I had lost a few pounds over the past week. I am just scared it will go back up and I will be disappointed again. Hopefully that will not be the case.

For lunch I went with my grandparents to Sonny's. I had my usual, pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread, with corn nuggets! I know, healthy. BUT, I only ate about 3/4 of the meat, one piece of the bread, and 5 corn nuggets. Not too bad, taking that I usually finish it all! I did succumb to the sweet tea though, but after having a glass I asked to change for water.

All in all, I have been slowly but surely changing my habits, and making better choices. Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of my weight problem, though I am sure it will be a life lone struggle...perhaps one day it will just be a struggle I can face as a thin person trying to stay thin, and a healthy person trying to stay healthy.

I have been doing a lot better!

Lately I feel I have been doing a lot better as far as my eating and exercising. I went to the gym four times this past week, and also did 50 laps in the pool yesterday. I have been easting reasonable for the most part, but other times I eat what I want, just not too much of it.

I forgot to eat breakfast, and then went and had my hair done at 11am, so I was starving when I got done at 2pm. I had some cheeze its and an orange to tied me over. I then took my grandfather and Shirley over to Jacksonville to the Navy base.
For dinner I had a crab cake with green beans and a baked potato, and boy was it good. I also only drank water and diet pepsi this day.

I did 1 hour of cardio at the gym

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Grayson made blueberry pancakes and bacon, yum! When I came into the kitchen, he had two pieces of bacon, and 3 pancakes on my plate, so I put back two of the pancakes and only ate one plus the bacon.

For lunch I had some blueberries, baby carrots, cheeze its, and almonds.

For dinner I made wings in the oven, I ate 4, and we had sweet potato fries.
I only had water and diet ginger ale to drink

I did 30 minutes of cardio at the gym, and then swam 50 laps in the pool.

It has been a while

It has been a while since I have posted anything lately, I just keep on forgetting, so here is an update.

I have started going back to Dr. Cooper, and I am damn determined to make this work! I am taking a B12 shot every week, and I am taking appetite suppressants twice daily. My eating this past week has been okay, but I could definitely do better.

Sunday, I gave myself my own shot, it was one of the most nerve racking things I have ever done. It took me close to 20 minutes in order to get the nerve to finally jab it into my thigh, but I did it! And, it didn't hurt at all, no big deal. Now I don't have to depend on anyone for my shots, I can do them myself.

Yesterday, Monday, I ate pretty well all day until night. Then I went to P.F. Changs and had my favorite chinese food, honey chicken. Yep...not so good.

Thus far today I have been doing quite well with my diet, I ate a few almonds this morning right after I got done working out, and then I had some cottage cheese and pineapple for a midmorning snack, and I am having fish for lunch.

I did not work out yesterday morning, but I did today. I got up at eight so that I could be at the gym at around 8:45. I did 1 hour of cardio, and boy was I tired afterward. I plan to do some laps in the pool later on in the afternoon, and then I might go back to the gym this evening. I am just ready to stop being fat, and finally be in shape. Hopefully I can do it!
